Soapbox Science Junior 2019

On May 15, 2019, we hosted our second Soapbox Science Junior event during the Festival of Trees at Harbourfront Centre in Toronto.

Soapbox Science Junior followed the same engaging format as the traditional Soapbox Science events, but with a specific focus on children and youth aged 4 to 18. This event stood out in two significant ways:

  1. It was part of a children’s literacy festival open to school classes, but not the general public. In contrast, official Soapbox Science events aim to engage people of all ages.
  2. While Soapbox Science speakers are typically PhD candidates or holders, Soapbox Science Junior featured presenters at all education levels, from high school students to PhD scholars.
