Soapbox Science 2018
In the spring of 2018, we held our first Soapbox Science Junior 2018 (opens in new window) event during the Festival of Trees at Harbourfront Centre in Toronto.
On September 23, 2018, we continued our success with another Soapbox Science event at the Word on the Street Festival, also at Harbourfront Centre in Toronto.
Our speakers, who came from Toronto, Guelph, and London (Ontario), included some of Canada's leading scientists in science outreach and STEM diversity initiatives. They presented on a wide range of topics, including diabetes, whale conservation, food security, astronomy, paleontology, cell biology, and bats. It was a great finale to end our Science Literacy Week in 2018 (opens in new window) !
