Health Promotion Programs embrace a student-centered approach and aim to involve students in the planning and implementation of our operations and initiatives as much as possible. We hope that passionate students like you can join us as volunteers in positions that will enhance your transferable skills and provide you with opportunities to positively impact the wellbeing of other TMU students. 

Volunteering with us will help you network with healthcare professionals and other like-minded students who want to support the TMU community. All volunteers who have completed over 30 hours of volunteering will be eligible for a certificate of appreciation and volunteer hours confirmation letter.

Volunteer Positions (Unpaid):

Health Connect Volunteers

Number of positions: 5-10

Health Connect Volunteers will play a key role in outreach and/or content development for Health Promotion Programs. 

Community Outreach Focus

Working alongside HPP staff, you will support our outreach efforts by facilitating tabling, workshops and hangouts. You will talk with students to promote our offerings and also guide students to health-related resources that fit with their specific needs. We will also rely on you to gather students’ feedback on how our programming fits with their needs to continue to improve what we do.

Key Attributes: Communication Skills, Teamwork, Enthusiasm, and Dependability

Content Development Focus:

Showcase your communication and creativity skills while developing evidence-based health-related content that will enrich TMU student wellbeing journey. You will be working with other students to research various health topics from credible sources and translate scientific knowledge to accessible formats that we can disseminate to TMU students through our social media, newsletters and website.

Data Storytelling Volunteer

Number of positions: 1

Keen to tell compelling stories based on data? As a Data Storytelling Volunteer, you will gain an in-depth understanding of HPP data and transform these data to narratives to convey to a diverse audience of the impacts HPP is making and the importance of health promotion on campus.

Data Entry Volunteer

Number of positions: 1

Data management is key to support the enhancement of HPP’s program and initiatives. Support HPP’s efficiency with you data entry and data management skills.

Key Attributes: Attention to detail, Sense of confidentiality, Organizational skills
