Program Descriptions

Programs listed below are offered periodically throughout the year. Please refer to the schedule above for current program times.

Program Name Description
Women's Only Swim Privacy curtains are drawn for this drop-in Lane / Open Swim format. Everyone who identifies as a woman is welcomed during this time. For the purposes of the Women's-Only Hours, women includes all cis and trans individuals who identify as a woman. Trans, in this case, refers to trans-feminine people who identify as transgender, transsexual, two-spirit, non-binary and/or genderqueer. Cisgender refers to persons whose gender identity corresponds with the sex the person had or was identified as having at birth.
Trans + Gender Diverse Swim This is an inclusive, drop-in swim time for trans and gender diverse members of our community. Anyone committed to creating a positive space for trans folks is welcome to join in a combined Lane / Open Swim format. Privacy curtains will be drawn.
Recreational (Open) Swim Rec Swim is the perfect time to use the pool for free swimming, general practice, and overall fun. Lane ropes are removed, and swimmers do not have to swim in a lap-style format. Swimmers are welcome to use innertubes, flutterboards, and pool noodles.
Lane Swim Pool is reserved for drop-in fitness lane swimming only. Swimmers must abide by the posted lane swimming etiquette guidelines as well as the instructions of the lifeguard on duty. Different lanes are designated for relative fast, medium-paced and slower swimmers.
Swim Lessons Private and group lessons are available for adults in 4- and 8-lesson packages. Lessons are available in women's only format as well. Registration is required.
Masters Swim The Masters Swim Program is a recreational program where participants can work on technique, speed and stroke improvement while enjoying the company of other swimmers. All skill levels are welcome, provided you have a basic understanding of the different strokes (Freestyle, Backstroke, and Breaststroke). Registration for Masters Swim is required, and is restricted to Ath & Rec members (including Toronto Metropolitan students).
