About the award
This award will recognize promising undergraduate or graduate students who demonstrated outstanding journalistic abilities.
This award is open to both individual and group work. Group projects must be done by groups of five or fewer students.
Individual Award Application Criteria
To be eligible for this award, a student must:
- Be a Canadian citizen or have landed immigrant status
- enrolled in the Undergraduate or Graduate program at the Toronto Met School of Journalism;
- have a minimum CGPA of 3.0;
- must demonstrate financial need through the creation of a Toronto Met AwardSpring (external link) profile.
- submit two pieces of your best journalistic work from the previous academic year.
Your application must include:
- A cover sheet stating only: the award you are applying for, your name, your student number, your year of study and your CGPA (in that order). This cover sheet is for administrative purposes only. Please do not include any additional information on the cover sheet;
- two pieces of your best journalistic work from the previous academic year.
Group Project Award Application Criteria
To be eligible for this award, :
- Be in a group of five or fewer students
- all group members must be Canadian citizen or have landed immigrant status
- all group members must be enrolled in the Undergraduate or Graduate program at the Toronto Met School of Journalism;
- all group members must have a minimum CGPA of 3.0;
- at least one group member
