Juanita Millesse Memorial Award
About the award
To the student demonstrating academic proficiency and with proven financial need. Financial need is a significant criterion. Those whose personal circumstances have affected their academic performance are encouraged to apply. Estimated at $275.
Juanita Millesse was a 19-year-old journalism student who died in a motorcycle accident in 1986, at the end of her final year. She lived at Neill-Wycik during the school year, where her outgoing and sociable nature saw her organizing social events and working on the Informant, Wycik’s newspaper. Juanita also worked long hours to fund her schooling. Her mother, Jeannette, and family established this award in her memory to help other working students make ends meet.
