About the award
The Donner Canadian Foundation Howard Intrator Memorial Scholarship will recognize the outstanding business writing accomplishment of a student in a magazine of newspaper course in the Bachelor of Journalism program. Students should submit their best example of a business news or business feature article. Estimated at $5,000.
Howard Intrator grew up in Kingston, Ont., and attended journalism school at Ryerson (now Toronto Met) before becoming a reporter at the London Free Press and Canadian Press. He also served as a copy editor for the Financial Post, to which he returned after it was incorporated into the National Post. Following his sudden death in 2000, his friends and colleagues established this award in his memory.
