Hafsah Tiwari

Hafsah Tiwari is a seasoned legal professional with nearly a decade of experience in labour and employment law, specializing in investigations, compliance, and regulatory matters.

Currently, Hafsah serves as Legal Counsel at Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU), where she brings her extensive expertise to provide strategic counsel on a broad range of employment, privacy, and regulatory issues.

Previously, Hafsah held counsel roles at two large utility companies, where she managed complex investigations, including workplace harassment, supply chain conflicts, and off-duty conduct reports, ensuring strict adherence to policy and legislation. She has also provided legal counsel on labour relations, collective bargaining, discrimination claims, and regulatory compliance, successfully defending organizations in arbitrations, administrative hearings, and court proceedings.

Hafsah holds a Juris Doctor from Western Michigan University Law School and a Bachelor of Arts in Print Journalism from the University of Houston. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, baking, and playing tennis.
