To book an appointment with a Counsellor for a personal matter, you can request an appointment with a counsellor through the Centre for Student Development and Counselling (opens in new window) . This a free and completely confidential service available to all students.
The Medical Centre (opens in new window) is a medical clinic which provides Toronto Metropolitan University students, staff and faculty, with a wide range of medical services that you would normally expect to receive from your family physician. This includes the treatment of illnesses, such as colds or the flu, to routine examinations like annual physicals and internal examinations. Your medical file is kept separate from all other University and academic files. Information about you cannot be released to anyone, without your written consent, except when required by law. The Medical Center is located in KHW 181 and available Monday through Friday from 9am to 5pm.

Massage Therapy, prescriptions and more are covered under the TMSU Members’ Health and Dental Plan (external link, opens in new window) . All full-time students that have never opted out before Fall 2022 will be charged for insurance benefits for the 2022-23 academic year. You can opt-out if you have alternative coverage. Opt-out online by October 7, 2022.

The Health Promotion Unit (opens in new window) provides current and relevant health information, working with students and staff to develop a healthy community and ensuring high quality health promotion information and support. Services include individual counselling on wellness issues, workshops and presentations on a variety of health topics, campus-wide health awareness events and peer-led wellness initiatives.
The RAC (opens in new window) and MAC (opens in new window) are both facilities available for all Toronto Metropolitan University students – it is included in your tuition! The RAC is located in the Quad and has weights, cardio room, indoor running track, dance studios, squash courts, a pool. The MAC is located in the former Maple Leaf Gardens building which houses a basketball court, ice rink, cardio room, dance studios.

Canine jumps, spins, licks and wags can go a long way toward relieving the stress associated with being a student. Therapy dogs (opens in new window) are available every Wednesday during mid-terms and finals periods.
