The Anne Goldman Award
About the award
This award was created by Sandy Goldman to honour the memory of her mother, Anne Goldman, and to support a Journalism student. Anne began her studies with a “City Politics” course at Ryerson (now Toronto Met). Her instructors were Myer Siemiatycki and Jack Layton. Then she enrolled in the School of Journalism and became a reporter for the Ryersonian (now On the Record). Anne loved her years covering the city and its people. Although she did not graduate or pursue life as a reporter, Anne continued to expand her knowledge through many means and relish the nightly ritual of a quiet time with her newspaper.
This award is for the student who produced the best investigative piece covering a social justice issue.
