The focus is on issues of global inequality, gender, ethnic, racial and religious inequality, human security, development and democracy, and the interventions of global and regional institutions. The course will also examine whether social and political movements in the Middle East, Asia, Latin America and Africa offer hopes to advance struggles for democracy and global justice.
