Politics in Latin America

This course examines the evolution of politics in Latin America. It examines the evolution of political institutions and regimes in the region, along with political and economic change. From state-led industrialization, to the rise of populism, military and authoritarian regimes, Leftist movements, and reform agendas, several countries will be considered. Examples of issues to be considered include, but are not limited to: social movements, insecurity and conflict, and democratization. (Comparative)
