The Exec. Branch in Democracy

This course uses the methods developed by the disciplines of political development and institutionalism to explore the evolution of the offices of presidents and prime ministers in democracies. The main themes will include the structural, substantial and style impacts of key individuals who played a critical role in transforming the offices. The course will draw on examples from the United States, Canada as well as countries in Europe and in the developing world. (Comparative)
