Women in the House

Women in the House returns in 2025

Thank you for your interest in the Women in the House program.

Our mission to empower women-identified and non-binary people and bridge gender disparities in Canadian politics and leadership has been met with great success. The program's innovative approach to education, combining theoretical knowledge with real-world experiences, has been highly regarded by all who have participated.

We are excited to announce that we will be offering the Women in the House program in Winter 2025. We will be welcoming new students who are enrolled in their third year or higher (undergraduate) or an MA-level course* in any program at TMU. (*Non-Politics students need program approval after they’ve been accepted into the program).

The program provides participants with a comprehensive theoretical and practical understanding of women in Canadian politics and intersectional policymaking. A key feature of the course is the opportunity to shadow a woman Member of Parliament and her staff in Ottawa, offering an invaluable firsthand look at women in leadership roles. We hope to empower the upcoming cohort of students to enact the changes they want to see in Canadian democracy.

Your support, enthusiasm, and dedication have been the driving force behind its achievements. Together, we will continue to strive for a more inclusive and equitable political landscape. See you in 2025!
