Peggy Nash, C.M.

Peggy Nash (she/her/hers) is a co-instructor of the Women in the House program and a former NDP Member of Parliament serving as Official Opposition Critic in Finance and Industry. She is the author of the book Women Winning Office, An Activists Guide to Getting Elected. Prior to politics she was a senior labour negotiator with the CAW (now Unifor) where she developed groundbreaking human rights and equity programs for which she was named to the Order of Canada and awarded an honorary Doctorate of Laws from Brock University.

Dr. Tracey Raney

Dr. Tracey Raney (she/her/hers) is a co-instructor of the Women in the House program and a Full Professor in the Department of Politics and Public Administration. Her published research focuses on gender-based violence in politics, women and politics, and Canadian politics. She has received several awards for her research and teaching, including the Jill Vickers Prize (2013, 2022, and 2023) and the Canadian Political Science Association’s Teaching Excellence Award which she won in 2022.

Khushi Shah, Winter 2025 Program Assistant

Khushi Shah is a WiTH alumna and Honours Politics & Governance graduate with a strong commitment to advancing gender equity and fostering inclusive leadership. Khushi has supported public policy initiatives, coordinated community outreach programs, and collaborated with elected officials on gender-based policy frameworks. With experience in organizing and facilitating events focused on policy development and community engagement, she is dedicated to creating opportunities for women to lead in political, legal, and community spaces. Khushi combines a passion for social impact with a proven track record of driving change through strategic initiatives and collaborative projects. 

We're delighted to have Khushi join the Women in the House team for Winter 2025!
