Dr. Stefania Impellizzeri, Department of Chemistry & Biology
Dr. Stefania Impellizzeri is a highly deserving recipient of the TMU YSGPS Outstanding Contribution to Graduate Education Award. Her exceptional commitment to mentoring, inclusive research environments, and student success has significantly impacted the professional and academic trajectories of her students and others. Dr. Impellizzeri's innovative research on Metal-Enhanced Fluorescence has led to numerous student co-authored publications and award-winning presentations. As a strong advocate for equity in education, she fosters a diverse and supportive lab culture. Dr. Dzung Minh Ha, Department of Mathematics

Sarwan Sahota Distinguished Scholar Award

Dr. Michael Olson, Department of Chemistry & Biology
Dr. Michael Olson is a leading cancer researcher focusing on cellular mechanisms and the development of new cancer therapies. Since joining Toronto Metropolitan University in 2018, he secured $6.3M in research funding and made several key discoveries reflected in his extensive publication record. His research explores Rho GTPase proteins and the regulation of the actin cytoskeleton on cancer cell death, immune cell function, and cancer cell motility. He developed innovative research tools and inhibitors for cancer treatment. Dr. Olson's impact is reflected in many invited talks and leadership roles, thus contributing significantly to cancer biology and therapeutic advancement.
Julia Hanigsberg Make Your Mark Staff Award

Leigh Paulseth, Faculty of Science Department of Physics
Leigh Paulseth leads transformative science communication and outreach efforts at TMU. Her community partnerships extend to underserved groups, fostering inclusivity through hands-on science. She organizes impactful programming like climate (in)justice symposia and runs Soapbox Science events that provide a platform empowering women and non-binary scientists. Her leadership in the 2024 solar eclipse project-featuring educational workshops, public viewing parties, and diverse resources-impacted thousands. Leigh exemplifies EDI values, supports environmental and social causes, and builds TMU's public engagement, making her an ideal candidate for this award. Dean's Service Award

Dr. Konstantinos Georgiou, Department of Mathematics
Dr. Konstantinos Georgiou has made outstanding contributions to theoretical computer science while elevating the reputation of the Department of Mathematics and the university. His leadership in organizing prestigious international conferences, such as the 34th Canadian Conference on Computational Geometry and the upcoming 32nd International Colloquium on Structural Information and Communication Complexity, reflects his commitment to advancing the field. Additionally, his editorial roles and chairmanship of major program committees demonstrate his influence on academic discourse.
