Rocket Static Test Facility
The Rocket Static Test Facility is a major component of the Propulsion Research Facility at Ryerson University. It enables the static test firing of small-scale solid and hybrid rocket engines. Experimental parameters such as thrust, internal motor chamber pressure, temperature at various locations, and motor structural vibration at various locations can be measured, depending upon the given investigation. This data is transferred from the remotely located firing test-stand to the PRF computer/control centre for processing and graphical display, via a high-speed data acquisition system. It is anticipated that a variety of different motor designs will be tested at this facility, both for education and research.
