Mind

Centre for Student Development and Counselling

We are here to support your growth and thriving in your personal life, your academic journey, and beyond. We understand that mental health and wellbeing are intricately woven in with social determinants of health, and we strive to be equitable and responsive in our care. Our approach to counseling is student-centered, collaborative and takes into account your whole self. We will work with you to co-create an empathic and respectful space that honors your lived experience, and tailor support to meet your unique needs.

Mindful TMU

Mindful TMU is a group of professionals at Toronto Metropolitan University whose vision is to build a community that cultivates connection, resilience, and wellness. Housed within a leading centre for scholarly and applied research and experiential education, the mission of this grassroots collective is to explore and foster mindful practices within the campus community and beyond.

Mood Routes

Mood Routes is a TMU Student Wellbeing initiative apart of the Thriving in Action program, in partnership with the Canadian Mental Health Association’s Mood Walks. The program encourages us to get outside not just for physical activity, but to de-stress, refocus, and re-ground ourselves.

A medical clinic which provides currently registered students, staff and faculty, with a wide range of medical services that you would normally expect to receive from your family physician.

TMU Eats

TMU Eats promotes fresh, wholesome, Ontario-sourced food for our campus community, operating three eateries and several kiosks across the Toronto Metropolitan University campus.

Good Food Centre

The Good Food Centre supports students facing any level of food insecurity. Become a registered member and use the food bank service for free groceries and supplies.

Centre for Safer Sex and Sexual Violence Support

The Centre for Safer Sex and Sexual Violence Support provides free, confidential peer support for survivors of sexual violence, those supporting survivors, or those just looking for more information related to sexual violence support. Provides Safer sex products, menstrual products, and emergency contraceptive reimbursements.

Student Financial Assistance

Investing in your education is one of the most rewarding, but costly investments you can make. It is important to be aware of ways to financially prepare yourself to be able to afford everything. We encourage you to visit the Student Financial Assistance website. If you have any questions, please contact the ServiceHub.

Complete your profile on the AwardSpring system for awards and scholarships you may be eligible for. The Student Awards and Scholarships Office can help you understand scholarship eligibility and support with the application process.

Peer & Staff Support

Student Wellbeing Peer Support

Student Wellbeing offers both group and individual peer support to all TMU students: a space to share, feel understood, and learn skills for life which will prepare you to navigate difficult times.

Walk Safe Program

This service provides TMU’s community with a protected escort by security officers or supervisors 24 hours a day to any location on the TMU campus, to the Dundas subway or to nearby parking lots off campus.

Student Care works collaboratively to support students with complex needs and students who are in distress. They also help address challenging behaviour of students through formal processes.

Human Rights Services

Human Rights Services works with members of the Toronto Metropolitan University community to promote a learning, work and living environment free of discrimination and harassment.
