Cancellation and damaged device fees
When considering a cancellation before the end of a contract term, faculties and departments have the option of purchasing the phone outright, reassigning the account to another employee or suspending the account. Please note that any fees related to cancellation is the responsibility of faculties and departments.
If you are migrating from an older TMU Rogers plan to the current TMU Rogers plan
If you wish to migrate to the current TMU plan before your Rogers TMU contract is complete, please note that cancellation fees will apply and will be the responsibility of your faculty or department.
If you are migrating from a non-Rogers carrier
If your current carrier applies any fees related to contract cancellations, an assessment must be done within your faculty or department to determine the cost benefit of the cancellation fee compared to the monthly savings. Prior to migrating, you must receive your leader’s approval.
If you received a new phone along with your TMU plan activation and the phone is lost, stolen or broken during the term of your contract, your faculty or department is required to pay out the remaining balance of the phone’s cost.
Cell phone expense reimbursement
As per TMU’s Travel and Other Business Expenses Guidelines, cell phone services provided by the university-preferred supplier should be paid via a TMU P-Card and not reimbursed through an expense claim.
For cell phone expense reimbursements that are not part of the TMU corporate cell phone plan, monthly reimbursement amounts cannot exceed the maximum cost of a TMU Rogers corporate plan.
