If you are currently employed in the early childhood studies sector, Toronto Metropolitan University’s School of Early Childhood Studies offers you the flexibility to complete one placement at your workplace. You can complete your fourth-year placement course at your workplace if you meet the following criteria:
Admitted to Part-Time Direct-Entry program
Have worked full-time in an early childhood education or educational setting for at least 6 continuous months (in the same position)
Clear academic standing
Placement project and tasks must be different from your regular job description and responsibilities
Setting, field educator, and proposal must be approved by the field education coordinator
Students employed by a school board must have worked full-time in the same position and classroom for 5 months.
If your workplace is outside the boundaries of the (PDF file) distance option map, it is a Distance Workplace Placement. The criteria and process for both Distance workplace placement students and Local workplace placement students is the same.
