Designboom Mart Booth
Project Description
A team of students at the TMU school of interior design created an exhibition booth for the 2017 Designboom Mart. The installation promotes interaction by connecting, stretching and contracting space, forming a dynamic and engaging environment that integrates visitors, vendors and products. Painted Designboom yellow, a pair of intersecting rectilinear volumes stretch vertically towards the ceiling, defining the central core of the mart and acting as a bold beacon of color within the fair.
The installation features a continuous baltic birch table that contracts and expands around the volume. The surface’s organic shape and uninterrupted circulation created a plane of interaction between vendors and visitors, leading them around the entirety of the mart, generating a sense of discovery and promoting opportunities for connection.
