Student Staff Opportunities

Our dedicated student staff team ensures our convocation ceremonies run smoothly. With a strong focus on customer service and support, these roles guide graduands and guests throughout the ceremony. 

Note: paid student staff roles are for current undergraduate students only. 

Join the Convocation Student Staff Team

Help us make this day a memorable experience for graduands and guests! This is a fast-paced environment where you will problem-solve and think on your feet. We have roles for student staff to work behind the scenes, as well as front and centre stage, assisting graduands throughout this special day.

A few examples of what you can expect to do at convocation: 

• Assist graduands with the check-in process;
• Distribute regalia to graduands and provide instructions on next steps;
• Assist graduands and guests with accessibility requests;
• Direct graduands in the Convocation Arena to and from their seats; 
• Provide directional assistance to graduands and their guests throughout the venue;
• Assist in venue setup and tear-down.

Meals

Lunch is provided between morning and afternoon ceremonies for those working a full shift.

Training

A mandatory paid training and venue set-up shift will take place for all student staff the week prior to convocation, and will be held on-site at the Mattamy Athletic Centre.
