Family Presentations
In keeping with the university's tradition, any faculty or staff member who has a family member graduating may request to congratulate them on stage. This has created very special memories for many families throughout the years.
More details about family presentation requests will be updated here soon.
Family presentations are part of the Academic Procession and individuals are required to remain for the duration of the ceremony.
Please see below regarding Marshalling and Regalia.
Participants of family presentations join the Academic Procession on the third floor (MAC 3319) of the Mattamy Athletic Centre (opens in new window) . Please arrive 45 minutes before the start of the ceremony and check-in with event staff.
View the current convocation schedule to see a breakdown of Faculties and programs.
Academic regalia is required for all family presentation participants.
If you do not have your own regalia, black academic gowns will be supplied by the university. On the day of your ceremony, these gowns will be available on the third floor (MAC 3319) of the Mattamy Athletic Centre (opens in new window) . Give yourself enough time to sign-out your gown and be in the marshalling area in time.
There will be coat racks provided, however, this is in an area that cannot be secured, so please leave all valuables in your office.
Academic hoods are the responsibility of the individual faculty and staff members to obtain, based on the institution where they earned their degree. Wearing a hood is not required but does add to the “splendour” of the family presentation.
