Message from the Former Vice-President, Equity and Community Inclusion, Dr. Denise O'Neil Green

On behalf of Toronto Metropolitan University’s Office of the Vice-President, Equity and Community Inclusion, I’d like to personally welcome you to The White Privilege Conference (WPC) Global - Toronto taking place May 9-12, 2018. We’re honoured to host such an important community event.

Established in Mt. Vernon, Iowa in 1999, this marks the first time WPC is being held outside of the United States. While Canada – particularly its major cities – is certainly known for its cultural mosaic, many people still experience challenges with privilege and oppression nationwide.

The purpose of this conference is to bring a myriad of voices to the table so that we can have honest conversations and overcome these obstacles together. This is an inclusive event rooted in the desire to uplift people from all walks of life, and we welcome diverse perspectives so that our solutions are representative of our society.

I encourage you to explore our website to learn more about what WPC Global - Toronto proudly offers attendees, and to gain additional background about the nature of this meeting of the minds. Featuring world-class keynote speakers, engaging workshops, youth-focused programming, and a banquet to honour Viola Desmond’s debut on Canada’s $10 bill, it’s a conference you won’t want to miss.

Positive change starts here. Reserve your spot to take part.

Thank you,

Dr. Denise O’Neil Green,
Former Vice-President, Equity and Community Inclusion
