Lifeguard
A Toronto Metropolitan Lifeguard is a highly motivated, dedicated and responsible individual who monitors patrons and ensures a safe swim environment in the University pool, located within the Recreation & Athletic Centre. Lifeguards oversee the safety of pool patrons and act as ambassadors for Toronto Metropolitan Athletics & Recreation with students and community members. Lifeguards work closely with the Head Lifeguard.

- Spring/Summer: Full-time (24-35 hrs / week) & Part-time (5-15 hrs / week)

Swim Instructor
A Toronto Metropolitan Swim Instructor is a highly motivated, dedicated and responsible individual who teaches swim lessons for patrons in the University pool. Swim Instructors develop and follow lesson plans set forth by the Lifesaving Society, and teach swimmers of a variety of skill levels (non-swimmers to advanced swimmers). Swim Instructors work closely with the Head Lifeguard.
Successful candidates will work part-time hours (typically between 2 – 5 hours weekly).

Intramural Sport and Recreation Clubs Projects Assistant
This is a pivotal role to improve the intramural and recreation clubs programs in making it more efficient with its procedures, policies and planning/organization. The successful candidate will assist the Intramural and Recreation Clubs Co-ordinator to create a marketing and promotion plan with support from our Marketing team, creating necessary procedures and reviewing and updating existing policies for both the intramural and recreation clubs programs. A good knowledge of the sport is an asset and having your CPR and First Aid is strongly recommended.

Role-Specific Responsibilities

Leadership Program Facilitator
The Leadership Program Facilitators are responsible for the development and delivery of the two-week Leader-in-Training (LIT) & Counsellor-in-Training (CIT) programs for youth ages 14-17. The goal of this program is to equip youth with the skills and knowledge to be a leader in their community, and apply it as an excellent Camp Counsellor. These two-week programs are structured to provide educational sessions during the first week, followed by opportunities for hands-on learning and the accrual of volunteer hours in the second week. This position also plays a significant role in the preparation and delivery of staff training. This position reports to the Assistant Camps Coordinator

Wellness & Nutrition Lead
The Wellness & Nutrition Lead assumes overall responsibility for camper safety, health, and wellness, as well as the camper lunch program. The Wellness & Nutrition Lead consults on health initiatives and procedures, coordinates the delivery of meals for campers enrolled in the lunch program, and is available as a first responder in cases of camper or staff accidents or illnesses. The Health & Wellness Lead reports to the Assistant Camp Coordinator. The Wellness & Nutrition Lead reports to the Assistant Camps Coordinator.

Assistant Camps Coordinator

Camp Counsellor
The Toronto Met Day Camps are renowned for their high-quality instruction, and experienced and caring camp staff. Chief among these staff are our Camp Counsellors, who provide supervision and instruction to new group of campers each week while supporting their Co-Counsellors and Instructors. Counsellors receive regular development support from a member of the Camp Leadership Team, including regular feedback throughout the summer. Counsellors report to either the Sport Camps Lead or Discovery Camps Lead, depending on their weekly assignment.

Camp Instructor
The Toronto Met Day Camps are renowned for their high-quality instruction, and experienced and caring camp staff. As a pivotal component of our staff team, Camp Instructors are responsible for the planning and delivery of lessons and programming to campers ranging in age from 6 to 15. Instructors lead programming in their assigned subjects during pre-scheduled instructional periods, and provide supervision to their assigned "home group" of campers during intervening periods.
