Shaping the future of health care
Kittie Pang
Master of Health Administration (Community Care) student
Ted Rogers School of Management
As a project manager at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, Kittie is working to transform the health-care system in order to create healthier communities.
Why did you choose TMU?
I liked how TMU’s programs have always been geared toward real-life applications. The MHA(CC) is the only program of its kind in Canada; it allows me to have a full-time job while doing school full-time for only 16 months. It touches upon different sectors and focuses on the transition and coordination between them to ensure that patients receive the best care.
How did your TMU graduate education prepare you for your career?
It really opened up my eyes in terms of broader systems-level thinking. I liked that the coursework introduced me to different health-care systems internationally, and made me critically think about what makes a good health-care system. The MHA(CC) is enhancing my ability to be a better leader.
What advice do you have for grad students?
What really impresses me about TMU is the support that the graduate school provides to students in terms of writing workshops, professional development and networking events. Don’t just focus on academics; take advantage of all the engagement opportunities available to you as a grad student.
