Through collaboration with children and young people, their caregivers, service providers, and policy-makers, our interdisciplinary team studies ecological and structural factors that can shape the wellbeing of children and young people across diverse socio-cultural contexts, particularly in cases of parent-child separation.
We acknowledge that the land on which Toronto Metropolitan University is located is the traditional territory of the Wendat, the Anishnaabeg, Haudenosaunee, Métis, and the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, a place which has long served as a site of meeting and exchange amongst nations. We acknowledge the contributions and historical importance of all Indigenous Peoples who have lived, and continue to live, on this and other lands where we live and work. Recognizing that we are all connected, we commit to learning from Indigenous values and knowledge locally and around the world, and to building opportunities for collaboration.
