Our Story: Vision, Guiding Principles, & Values
Vision
Our vision is to create a world where every child and young person is nurtured and cared for in the best possible way. We strive to understand the complexities and root causes of inadequate child care and supervision, and use this knowledge to inform policies and interventions. Our goal is to support families with the resources and knowledge they need to provide optimal care, while also developing evidence-based initiatives and addressing systemic challenges that may hinder effective child care.
Appreciation
Adopting a strength-based approach to identify and leverage strengths and cultural assets within each community contributing to the wellbeing and overall health of children and young people.
Collaboration
Benefiting from the close collaboration with young people, scholars, and partners across disciplines, cultures, and geographies to effectively gather a diversity of experiences and perspectives.
Methodological Plurality
Employing a rigorous multi-method research approach, combining quantitative, qualitative, mixed-method, and community-based participatory research methods to ensure the collection of rich data from various perspectives and locations.
Rights-based Approach
Prioritizing the dignity and needs of all persons, and particularly the most disadvantaged groups to promote social justice.

Collecting information about individual, interpersonal, organizational, community, and societal factors that influence human behavior and health.
