Furniture Audit

In response to our audit of all general use classrooms, which found that classrooms contained broken or damaged furniture, Facilities Management and Development conducted an inventory of furniture in classrooms in Victoria, Kerr Hall, Eric Palin Hall, Sally Horsefall Eaton, and Podium and Library buildings (89 classrooms).

To date, all broken or mismatched furniture has been removed from Victoria and Kerr Hall (32 classrooms) and is in the process of being replaced. Chairs and desks have been relocated to ensure matching sets in each room, and each room has been checked to ensure the amount of furniture meets the assigned capacity

  • Over 500 items have been disposed
  • Over 1500 items have been relocated
  • Over 300 new items have been purchased

Furniture has been barcoded and entered into an inventory system that will assist custodial staff in returning items to their proper locations, as well as in tracking the age, condition, and warranty status of each piece.
