Applying for Esch
STEP 1: Check that you're eligible.
- At the time of application, the applicant must be a current or recent graduate (within 6 months) from the Faculty of Engineering and Architectural Science with a clear academic standing (minimum 1.67 GPA).
- Undergraduate students in their first semester cannot apply.
- The applicant must be available for contact (via phone or in person) during the Selection Committee meeting (held during the scheduled committee meeting in Fall 2022) if requested by a Selection Committee Member.
- Past recipients of the Norman Esch Awards may not apply to win the same award stage (Stage 1, Stage 2, or Stage 3) twice, even if the application submitted is for a different idea.
- An applicant can apply with an idea with co-applicants/inventors from other faculties; the external community; from other schools; and/or Toronto Metropolitan University staff and faculty members, with the understanding that:
- The applicant is responsible for the final report and its content.
- The applicant, if selected, will receive the award in their name or will need to coordinate payment with their official business (business numbers, SIN, and HST information will be required).
- The applicant is responsible for all communication made during and after the selection process.
- The applicant, if selected, will have their name associated with the idea submitted in communication and press.
- If selected, the Stage 3 applicant, must be available to participate in a ten minute presentation in front of the scheduled Esch Selection Committee meeting.

STEP 3: Apply!
NOTE for all applicants! You will be asked to upload an unofficial Toronto Metropolitan University Transcript in order to prove that you are a TMU FEAS student.
