HOW TO APPLY

Ontario Secondary School Students in their Senior Year

Students in Ontario secondary schools must submit an OUAC 101 application, available online at www.ouac.on.ca/ouac-101. For assistance, students should visit their secondary school guidance office in the Fall for details. The application fee must accompany the completed application. All fees are subject to change.

International Students

International students who are not attending an Ontario Secondary School must submit an OUAC 105 application, available online at www.ouac.on.ca/ouac-105. Application procedures are provided with the application. An $85 Supplemental/Document Evaluation Fee is required in addition to the base application fee. All fees are subject to change.

Applicants must submit a completed Supplementary form to Undergraduate Admissions and Recruitment at Ryerson. Applications will not be reviewed until the completed Supplementary form is received.  Supplementary forms are available online at www.ryerson.ca/undergraduate/admission/apply/forms

All Other Applicants

All other applicants to Ryerson, who are not current/former Ryerson students as noted below, must submit an OUAC 105 application, available online at www.ouac.on.ca/ouac-105 (some exceptions apply, see below). An $85 Supplemental/Document Evaluation Fee is required in addition to the base application fee. Fees are subject to change.

Applicants must submit a completed Supplementary form to Undergraduate Admissions and Recruitment at Ryerson. Applications will not be reviewed until the completed Supplementary form is received.  Supplementary forms are available online at www.ryerson.ca/undergraduate/admission/apply/forms

The following applicants must use the Ryerson Online Application available at www.ryerson.ca/undergraduate/admission/apply/forms:
  • a current Ryerson student (this includes students enrolled in the G. Raymond Chang School of Continuing Education);
  • a former Ryerson student (this includes students enrolled in the G. Raymond Chang School of Continuing Education) from Fall 1984 to present;
  • an applicant to a part-time degree program;
  • an applicant seeking Special Student status;
  • an individual seeking re-admission to a Ryerson program;
  • an individual seeking re-instatement who was Suspended/Required to Withdraw (RTW) from a Ryerson program more than two years (six consecutive terms) ago (see Required to Withdraw Students Seeking Reinstatement).

Exception: All applicants to the Midwifery program, as well as applicants who wish to be considered for admission to another Ontario university, must apply through the OUAC.

The current fee for the Ryerson Online Application is $85 (subject to change). All applicants must submit the Supplementary form (except those seeking Special Student status).

Applications will not be reviewed until the completed Supplementary form is received. Supplementary forms are available online at www.ryerson.ca/undergraduate/admission/apply/forms

All applicants should note:

  • All applicants to Grades-Plus programs in the Faculty of Communication and Design, and the Architectural Science program, are required to pay a Non-Academic Requirements Fee of $50 per program.  The fee is paid at the time of submission of the Non-Academic Requirements.  Please visit the applicable program page at www.ryerson.ca/undergraduate/admission/programs/grades_plus for details.
  • Before completing either the OUAC 101, 105 or Ryerson Online Application, the application instructions should be read carefully. The program code(s) that describe most accurately the program(s) chosen should be selected and are available with each online application.
  • Applicants may review and change their completed application once it has been submitted. If any revisions to the OUAC application are made, Ryerson will be notified of the applicable changes shortly after the submission to the OUAC. Although all changes are important to the processing of each application, changes to program choice, surname, mailing, e-mail and home addresses are of significant importance and should be reported to the OUAC as soon as the situation arises.
  • Applicants who have applied via the Ryerson Online Application must notify Undergraduate Admissions and Recruitment of any changes in application, address, e-mail, telephone numbers and/or other information as soon as they arise using the Ryerson Change Form.
For applicants that have applied to Ryerson in a previous academic year: if the name on the application has changed in any way, proof of this name change (i.e. marriage certificate, notarized statement or other legal document) must be provided.

Ryerson’s primary mode of communication is the Choose>Ryerson portal and email.

All applicants are required to use a Choose>Ryerson portal account (choose.ryerson.ca), and will be sent personal log in details to their email account after their application has been received.

Application status and applicant communications are viewable in the Choose>Ryerson portal. Applicants must regularly monitor their Choose>Ryerson account, and read all of the information that is posted to the 'My Application Status' and 'Documents' sections. Applicants are strongly advised to print and save all communications posted to their Choose>Ryerson portal account.

If an applicant’s email address changes, Ryerson must be updated immediately, through appropriate channels . Applicants should ensure that they have edited/updated their 'spam' filters to prevent important and time-sensitive e-mail communications from being filtered out as spam.

NOTE: Changes (e.g. to application/amendments/condition extensions, etc.) may not be made verbally, either in person or by telephone. Most communication from Ryerson is date sensitive. Applicants who fail to respond within stated time frames may have their application or Offer of Admission cancelled.
