ADMISSION INFORMATION - Full-Time Program
Administered by the Daphne Cockwell School of Nursing

DEGREE: Two years of study beyond a nursing diploma or an approved bridging program.

Applicants may qualify by satisfying the items found under either admission criteria A, B or C.

ADMISSION CRITERIA A:
Canadian Diploma-Prepared Registered Nurses

The applicant must be a graduate from a Nursing diploma program for registered nurses at a Canadian college, either provincial or territorial with a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher.

PLUS

MUST satisfy at least one of the two following criteria:
  1. Applicants may qualify by demonstrating proof of current registration with the regulatory body pertaining to their respective province(s) or territories; OR
  2. Applicants must demonstrate proof of eligibility for registration in Ontario.

ADMISSION CRITERIA B: Registered Practical Nurses

The applicant must be a graduate from a Practical Nursing diploma program at an Ontario College of Applied Arts and Technology (CAAT) with a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher and containing no repeated courses or failures on their academic transcript.

AND

The applicant must be a graduate from an approved bridging program with a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher and containing no repeated courses or failures on their academic transcript.

PLUS

MUST satisfy at least one of the two following criteria:
  1. Applicants may qualify by demonstrating proof of current registration with the regulatory body pertaining to their respective province(s) or territories; OR
  2. Applicants must demonstrate proof of eligibility for registration in Ontario.
ADMISSION CRITERIA C: Internationally Educated Nurses

IEN’s (Internationally Educated Nurses) must be a graduate from a Ryerson approved bridging program with a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher and containing no repeated courses or failures on their academic transcript.
 
ADMISSION PROCEDURE
 
In addition to the application form, candidates must submit:
  1. Officially certified transcripts including promotion/graduation status from all nursing and other post-secondary level studies, indicating specific courses and grades.
  2. Photocopy of current Ontario Certificate of Registration or proof of eligibility for the same.
  3. Applications for Fall 2013 admission must be received by March 1, 2013. Applications for Winter 2014 admission must be received by November 1, 2013.
