New Finance Process for External Research Grants

Starting September 15, 2022 Research Finance at TMU is launching a new process for research-related spending approvals for external research grants held by researchers in the Faculty of Arts (transactions where you normally engage an Arts RASO). Other Faculties are in the process of doing the same.

The new process should simplify and cut down some steps for you, because you are no longer required to have your chair sign paper or electronic forms before you submit a claim to our RASOs.

  1. Start with the table found  (PDF file) here.
  2. Submit all receipts, invoices, etc. and corresponding forms with your signature to an Arts RASO. Your chair’s signature is not required. The RASO will process your submission through the new system.
  3. Your chair will receive an email notification requesting their review and approval. Once approved via email by your chair, the payment will move forward to be processed.
