Community-Engaged Learning & Teaching

Enhance your teaching innovation and experience

Faculty of Arts supports innovative and creative pedagogical approaches and experiential learning in collaborations with community and external partners.

Engaged learning initiatives in courses help students make linkages between theory and practice, enhance creative thinking and reflection, ability to apply knowledge, develop skills for inquiry and active learning. Academically embedded experiential components include forms of community engaged learning, service learning, work-integrated learning, project and research-based learning, to provide real world experiences to students and foster integration of personal, academic and professional abilities.

The Faculty of Arts CELT program lead collaborates and offers consultation and support to faculty members and academic programs and initiatives to integrate innovative, creative and transformational applied learning opportunities in courses and curriculum.

The classroom remains the most radical space of possibility in the academy
