Jama Bin-Edward
Helping students excel
In March of 2018, Jama Bin-Edward, a first-year politics and governance student was awarded a Ryerson basketball scholarship and a bursary because of the excellent marks she received at her hometown high school in Waterloo, Ontario.
“The scholarship and bursary really helped with tuition and residence fees,” says Jama. “It’s truly made a difference in helping me with my academics and athletics.”
She’s especially thankful for the diversity of the campus. “Everyone who comes here feels included. And being in downtown Toronto really makes it easy to get involved in things that are happening. That’s what I love about Ryerson.”
Support from donors helps create awards like those Jama received, and gives us the ability to give promising and deserving students across the Faculty of Arts an opportunity to thrive at Ryerson. Through generous gifts, our partners help expand access and multiply internships for today’s students, and increase their potential to advance their careers and earning power throughout their lives.
