My research interests center around healthy aging and brain health in late life. More specifically, I am interested in exploring the biological, psychological, and social factors that determine cognitive function in late life. I am also interested in researching preventive measures that enable healthy aging.
My research and clinical interests center around improving health and overall quality of life through stress reduction. I am currently examining whether mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) and/or progressive muscle relaxation (PMR) can improve psychological well-being and cognitive performance in older adults.
I am currently pursing my thesis project, which includes aspects such as body image, stress, and their effect on physical and psychological well-being.
I currently conduct cognitive tests with participants' pre and post study interventions. I also do general office administration and help with recruiting. In the future, I intend to pursue a PhD in Clinical Psychology with a focus on stress and its relationship to cognitive functioning, self-care habits, and medical treatment compliance.
I obtained my BSc in Psychology from the University of Waterloo. I currently assist in the design and maintainance of the website, as well as participant recruiting. In the future, I aim to pursue a career in healthcare and work in a pediatric or community health setting.
I obtained my BA in Psychology from Wilfrid Laurier University. I currently assist in the implementation of a study examining mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) and progressive muscle relaxation (PMR). I plan to apply for graduate school in September 2014, after gaining additional research experience.
