Garden Grab Bags

Interested in incorporating fresh produce from the Urban Farm at TMU into your summer meals? Students, faculty, staff, and members of the public may purchase a Garden Grab Bag from the Urban Farm. Farm-to-table is closer than you think!

Available for pick-up weekly on Mondays from June 2 to August 25, and on Wednesdays in August, each Garden Grab Bag includes a pre-packaged surprise assortment of seasonal, spray-free produce.

What you’ll find in your Garden Grab Bag

Harvested on the same day you receive your order, the contents of our Garden Grab Bags will change week to week to reflect what produce is currently in season. 

Garden Grab Bags include enough fresh produce to feed approximately 1-2 people for one week. Contents of our weekly Garden Grab Bags will be shared on our Instagram feed (external link)  closer to our weekly delivery dates.

Pricing

Garden Grab Bags retail for $30 for Toronto Metropolitan faculty, staff and community members, while students may take advantage of a $20 student rate. 

Purchasing a Garden Grab Bag

Garden Grab Bags are available for pre-order every month throughout the summer. Sales open for the month ahead on the first Monday of each month until the last Monday of the following month via our Garden Grab Bag order form (external link) . Garden Grab Bags may be picked up on campus. 

Pick-up option

For July orders, pick-up is available on Mondays between 12 - 1 p.m. at the main entrance of the George Vari Engineering building located at 245 Church Street. For orders in July and August, the pick-up location is at the TMU Campus Store, located at 17 Gould St between 12 - 3 p.m. The TMU campus is pedestrian-only, so there are a couple of options for picking up your grab bag at the Campus Store:

• If you are driving, please park in the Green P located directly beside the Campus Store on Victoria St., or a close by side street. Parking is also available in the 300 Victoria St. Garage next to the Campus Store.
• If taking public transit or walking, Dundas Subway Station located at the Yonge and Dundas intersection is the closest subway stop. You can then proceed to the Campus Store via Dundas St. East and Victoria St., or via Yonge St. and Gould St.

For Wednesday orders in August, pick-up will be at our Summer Open Farm located on the DCC rooftop farm, 8th floor at 288 Church St between
11 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Please note that all Garden Grab Bags must be picked up on Mondays during the pick-up window as we are unable to store your bag overnight or arrange a delivery. Community members who do not pick-up their Garden Grab Bag during our pick-up windows will not be refunded and your bag will be donated to a community partner on your behalf.

Cancellation policy

Garden Grab Bags are non-refundable due to the nature of the operations of the Urban Farm. If you have to cancel your order, you may receive a credit for the Farm Stand or you may choose another week to receive your order. Any cancellations made within less than 24 hours notice will not receive Farm Stand credit and will not be rescheduled.
