As the name of the program states, Undeclared Arts is meant for those who are undecided as to what they want to major in. That's why I chose this program. I have future plans for pursuing a law degree, but of course that comes later. Undeclared Arts allowed me to begin university without worrying as to what was the correct academic path for me. I did not feel pressured into choosing a specific program before I even began university.
I enjoyed the wide variety of courses from which I was allowed to choose as an Undeclared Arts student. I was able to choose the courses that appealed to me. In doing so, it helped me narrow down my choice of a major. Each program transfer option for Undeclared Arts students has several courses in first year that you can choose to take. This meant that the major I would enjoy most would be the courses that I enjoyed the most in first year. Since I really enjoyed the first-year politics courses, I chose Politics and Governance as my major.
The facilities at Ryerson have also been a big help. Most of my time has been spent in the library studying and doing work on assignments. The library is clean, spacious and has an environment conducive to learning, especially the computers available to the students. The fact that the Faculty of Arts has many programs means that students in different programs can still share classes together, allowing you to meet new people.
I have enjoyed my time at Ryerson so far and can definitely say that it was worth the effort. I have no regrets.
