Free Food Project

Students enjoying free food at the Hub Café
In April and December of 2024, The Office of the Vice-Provost, Students, and TMU Eats partnered with senior leadership teams, student societies and student unions to offer students free food during exam seasons!

What we offered

Hot meal program

TMU Eats prepared hot meals made in-house by the TMU Eats team at the Hub Café.

Offerings included:

  • Choice of one meat entrée (halal) with two sides (vegan) or one plant-based entrée (vegan) with two sides (vegan)*
  • A choice of one cold beverage, and one rotating snack food item

We also offered certified kosher packaged options and made-without-gluten entree alternatives upon request.

In April 2024, we served 5,323 hot meals, and in December 2024, we served over 7,400!

Information for staff and faculty

TMU faculty and staff were also invited to access the all-inclusive meal option at the Hub Café for $8.75 (tax inclusive).
