Successful relationships, whether in our personal, academic or professional lives, depend on effective communication.

Communication can make the difference in how we relate to others and how quickly or effectively we can troubleshoot issues. Now that such a considerable amount of our daily lives is facilitated by the internet, digital communication skills are essential to ensure messages are delivered and received correctly, and virtual wires are not crossed in the process.

Some forms of online communication do not allow immediate feedback, so it is essential to present clear and effective messages in order to be successful.

“When the trust account is high, communication is easy, instant, and effective.”

Stephen R. Covey, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People: Powerful Lessons in Personal Change
