
Judy Healy
Judy has over 20 years of experience in the Hospitality and Tourism Industry. Fifteen of those years she assisted as an event planner covering Corporate and Association markets including city wide conventions. She has also handled government events including state visits, weddings and social/gala fundraisers.
Her career began at the historic Fairmont Royal York where she worked for several years in the Catering and Conference planning department as the Assistant Director of Catering and Conference Services. She then moved on as the Director of Catering and Conference Services at the prestigious Le Royal Meridien King Edward and the Park Hyatt Hotel. She is an active member with Meeting Professional International Association (MPI), International Live Events Association (ILEA) and Society of Incentive Travel Excellence (SITE).
Judy joined Ryerson University in 2005 as an instructor in the Hospitality and Tourism Management department where she continues to teach Event Management, Meetings and Convention Management, Business Aspects of Incentive Travel and Revenue Management, using a Hotel and Restaurant Simulator. She has also taught Continuing Education courses at George Brown College and G. Raymond Chang School of Continuing Education at Ryerson University. Outside of the classroom, Judy is a consultant on Event Management and Motivational Incentive programs. She is an Accredited Meeting Professional International Global Trainer and earned her MBA minoring in Event Management.
Judy has received several forms of recognition for her commitment to students and the Hospitality industry. She has received 3 awards from Toronto Metropolitan University. She was honoured by her students for enhancing their University experience, by the Dean for her Teaching Excellence and she recently received a Teaching Innovation Award. She was also inducted into the Meetings and Incentive Travel Hall of Fame for her Mentorship of Young Professionals.
