Dean’s Circle

With support from the Dean’s Circle fund, TMU Global Learning and the Ted Rogers Students’ Society, nine students from the Ted Rogers School attended the prestigious HBS Africa Business Conference. Held annually at Harvard Business School, this conference is the largest student-run African event globally, focusing on business and entrepreneurial opportunities across Africa. The financial assistance covered conference fees and travel, offering students invaluable learning and networking experiences while reinforcing the school’s commitment to expanding experiential learning opportunities for its diverse student body.

Alumni 

Ted Rogers School’s alumni have been recognized for their professional contributions and demonstrative efforts to produce equitable outcomes in their work. 

As entrepreneurs, leaders and mentors, the alumni community incorporate diverse lens and inclusive practices in their industries, setting examples as advocates for transformative justice, gender equity and sustainability. The Ted Rogers School proudly honours the contributions of its alumni who are making waves in their respective fields, and this year, we are particularly highlighting the recognitions of our alumnae.

Abby Albino (Human Resources ’06), Co-Founder of Makeway, stands out as a trailblazer in the sports PR world. She emphasizes the importance of gendered representation and was acknowledged by The VIBE’s 2023 Power 60 and Rising Asian Canadians to Watch For.

Christine Faulhaber (Marketing Management ’02), founder and CEO of FAULHABER was honoured with the Universal Women's Network - Women of Inspiration Award, for her entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to shattering barriers for women in business. She initiated the Faulhaber Award at TMU to support female students from marginalized communities aspiring to become senior leaders in communications.

Laura Salvatore (Human Resources ‘12), Vice President, Human Capital at Centurion Asset Management has earned her place among HR Directory's Top 100 Global Human Resources Leaders in 2023, for her exceptional leadership in human resources and strategic impact on organizational development.

Noura Sakkijha (MBA ’09), Founder and CEO of Mejuri, was proudly recognized as one of GLORY Professional’s esteemed Champions of Change. While growing to an internationally renowned cult jewelry brand, some of Mejuri’s recent developments include the launch of its own Empowerment Fund which supports education for underrepresented individuals, investments in regenerative mining and signing the sustainability-focused UN Global Compact – the first Canadian jewelry brand to do so.

Rochelle Atizado (Global Management Studies ‘11), Senior Advisor, Partnerships & Special Initiatives at the United Nations Foundation was named in the Top 100 Women of 2023 by the WXN (Women’s Executive Network). Atizado leads social impact partnerships with purpose-driven companies, creative community, civil society, young people and the UN to advance the Sustainable Development Goals. Atizado is also a UN published writer.

Farhana Mahbub (MBA ’19), Chief Administrative Officer of Regulatory Compliance at RBC, was a recipient of the Universal Women's Network - Women of Inspiration Award. This accolade recognizes Mahbub as a catalyst for change, actively contributing to the empowerment of women in her industry.

Zahra Noorani (HTM ‘16) has made profound impacts in conservation, by promoting sustainable practices and engaging communities in natural environments. As Director of Business Development at the Royal Botanical Gardens, Noorani leads initiatives and community events that connect people to nature, safeguards sanctuaries and restores habitats for 50+ species.
