Message from the Associate Dean, Engagement & Inclusion

Our dedication to fostering an equitable, diverse and inclusive (EDI) environment at the Ted Rogers School of Management remains unwavering. We believe our collective growth hinges on a community where every individual feels acknowledged, valued and empowered to succeed.

Our 2023-2024 EDI Report highlights the significant progress our students, staff, faculty and alumni have continued to make together. Through various initiatives, we've celebrated achievements, advocated for meaningful change, engaged with our community and enhanced educational resources to cultivate an inclusive atmosphere through our C.A.R.E. framework:

We celebrate diverse achievements. Over the past year, we awarded over $2.6 million in scholarships, emphasizing academic excellence and leadership. Our new awards specifically support Black, Indigenous and racialized students, providing vital financial resources. We continue to commend the outstanding leadership of our faculty and students in promoting equity, diversity and inclusion.

Our inclusive community thrives on advocacy and shared values. At the Ted Rogers School, we gather for workshops, lectures and events that foster a sense of belonging among students, staff and faculty. Our Business Career Hub provides tools and resources for cultivating an EDI-centred environment, with initiatives that encourage open dialogue and support students transitioning into professional spaces.

Mutual support is fundamental to our culture. Our students actively contribute to our ethos of inclusion through initiatives that support social justice, such as the Food Insecurity Project and mentorship programs, affirming our commitment to removing barriers. Our alumni community exemplifies these principles, uplifting future leaders and reinforcing equity and justice in their fields.

Education is key to change. Our staff and faculty lead this mission, integrating inclusion, equity, accessibility and decolonization into their teaching, scholarly research and creative activities. Recent curriculum reforms offer learning experiences that emphasize diverse perspectives, equipping students to navigate a complex, multicultural world, and be drivers and leaders of change.

We invite you to continue actively participating in this journey. Together, we can create an environment where everyone flourishes. Your support—through mentorship, scholarship contributions or community involvement—will help dismantle barriers and pave the way for a brighter future for all students at the Ted Rogers School. Let’s reaffirm our commitment to an inclusive, thriving community and advance equity, diversity and inclusion in every aspect of our school.
