Disaggregate data and qualitative research are essential tools for building community initiatives, developing equitable projects and advocating for social and policy changes. Researchers and faculty members at the Ted Rogers School are committed to applying an intersectional lens in their work in order to produce equitable analysis. Kelly McShane

Building resilience to climate-related risks

Professor Kelly McShane’s current research undertaking is on the question of how conservation agriculture can empower women farmers in low- and middle-income countries and mitigate the effects of climate change. The project will investigate how this type of agriculture can empower smallholder women farmers and build resilience against climate-related risks to their living conditions, food security and health in low-and middle-income countries.

Researcher Dr. Nükhet Taylor received, from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada, an Insight Development Grant to support her research project titled: Fostering Well-Being in the Digital World.
