About

The CPA Ontario Centre for Public Sector Accounting and Accountability aims to advance the accounting profession by supporting diverse and cross-disciplinary research and innovative activities. The Centre will develop and promote relevant and timely thought leadership for public disclosure and discourse, focusing on accountability and public sector accounting. It will do this by bringing together academia, practitioners, industry, government, public accounting and members of the accounting and accountability community. 

The Centre will also provide resources for researchers, practitioners and students interested in accounting and accountability research, accounting education and the CPA certification.

Oliver Okafor

Dr. Oliver Nnamdi Okafor, Director, CPA Ontario Centre for Public Sector Accounting and Accountability

Dr. Oliver Nnamdi Okafor is an Associate Professor of Accounting and the Director of the CPA Ontario Centre for Public Sector Accounting and Accountability at the Ted Rogers School of Management. Oliver is also the Program Director of the Ted Rogers School of Management's Professional Master’s Diploma (PMDip) in Accounting. Dr. Okafor is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) of Canada, and Fellow Chartered and Certified Accountant (FCCA) of the United Kingdom. He holds a PhD in Management with specialization in Accounting and Taxation from the University of Calgary and two MBAs. His research interests are in taxation, and equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI). He has taught advanced financial accounting in the undergraduate and graduate programs at the Ted Rogers School, and has also taught financial accounting and taxation for the CPA as contract instructor for several years.

Dongning Yu

Dr. Dongning Yu

Dr. Dongning Yu is an Assistant Professor of Accounting at the Ted Rogers School of Management. She holds a PhD in Accounting from the University of Calgary, a Master of Science in Accounting from Bentley University (U.S.), and a Bachelor of Arts from Central University of Finance and Economics (China). Her teaching interests are in financial accounting. Her research interests include labour adjustment behaviour, financial analysis, corporate governance and corporate social responsibility.

John Li

Dr. John Li

Dr. John Li is an Assistant Professor of Accounting at the Ted Rogers School of Management. His teaching interests are in personal and corporate taxation. His research interests include corporate tax avoidance, the influence of income taxes on managerial decisions and executive compensation. He obtained a Bachelor of Mathematics, a Master of Accounting and a Master of Mathematics (Statistics) from the University of Waterloo. John received his Accounting PhD from the University of Oregon.
