John Allen
John Allen is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Law and Business at the Ted Rogers School of Management. John has a Bachelor of Arts, a Bachelor of Science, a Bachelor of Laws, and, while working full-time in his own law firm, obtained his Masters and PhD in law from Osgoode Hall Law School in Toronto.
John has been counsel for and a director of various private and public companies, including mineral exploration companies, a public real estate investment company, a public energy resource company, and a significant non-profit charitable foundation.
John authored the Quicklaw / LexisNexis “Allen securities netletter” for six years, the 3rd 4th and 5th editions of the Estate Planning Handbook, and “How to Administer an Estate in Ontario”, frequently a bestseller on Amazon.ca under the category of Estates & Trusts Law. John has been co-author of the annual “Handling Provincial Offence Cases in Ontario” with Justice Libman of the Ontario Court of Justice; a co-editor of RegQuest, a monthly update on regulatory offences and compliance law in Canada; and he has written articles for the Canadian Business Law Journal, the Advocates Journal, the Criminal Law Quarterly, and the Humber Journal of Paralegal Access to Justice.
