
Robert J. Schauer
Robert Schauer is Head of Business Transformation, North America, BMO Global Asset Management and Chief Financial Officer Investment Funds.
Rob joined BMO in 2000, and has held a number of progressively senior positions including Managing Director for BMO’s Canadian investment fund operations and currently serves on the Board of Directors for BMO Investments Inc. In addition, he leads BMO GAM’s North American investment operations teams.
Prior to joining BMO, Rob worked with PricewaterhouseCoopers in of the Assurance & Business Advisory Services practice, specializing in assurance engagements for investment funds and insurance companies.
Rob is a Fellow Chartered Accountant and Fellow Chartered Professional Accountant. He graduated with honours from Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU), formerly known as Ryerson University in Toronto and received a Bachelor Business Management (Accounting & Finance) and is a member of the Economics Department Program Advisory Committee. Rob was honoured as a recipient of the 2016 TMU Alumni Award of Distinction.
In addition to his position with BMO, Rob has been a leader in industry and is currently a member and former Chair, Operations Committee for Canadian ETF Association (CETFA), the former Chair of CPA Canada’s Investment Fund Standing Committee and helped co-author the research report: Assessing Risks & Controls of Investment Funds, and long-time member of IFIC’s Accounting Advisory Working Group. Rob currently serves on the accredited, non-profit Board of Directors for Turning Point Youth Services serving youth and their families though counselling, residential care and treatment as well as support in matters of youth justice.
