
Christopher West
Christopher West (he/him) joined the Ontario Public Service in 2013 following a progressive career in the satellite communications industry where he led inter-continental projects and developed new business opportunities across the globe including the establishment of joint venture company in the Republic of Korea.
Over the past decade, Chris has led the successful implementation of several enterprise cloud applications as well as leading the internal pool of nearly 200 IT professional services resources known as IT Source. He has been the Director of the Business and Service Management Branch in The Central Agencies I&IT Cluster since December of 2021. Chris is a champion of change and an advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion. He regularly mentors other aspiring professionals either individually or through speaking engagements where he has inspired youth to pursue careers in IT.
Chris is a two-time alumnus of the Ted Rogers School of Management (B.Comm ’03, MBA ’08) and remains active in the Toronto Metropolitan University community by virtue of his role as the founder of the Ted Rogers Student Society, various lecturing opportunities, and through a variety of advisory roles.
Outside his professional life, Chris is usually found rink-side at one of his three sons’ hockey games or experiencing the great outdoors with his family or his Scout troop. Born and raised in Barrie, Ontario and a proud citizen of the Metis Nation Ontario, Chris continues to explore the tapestry of his indigenous and settler heritage through his dedication to public service, an ardent appreciation for, and deep connection to, the land he calls home.
