Responsible AI: Summer Debate Series Recap

This summer, our research group held a series of engaging and thought-provoking debates led by students on critical issues surrounding the ethical use of artificial intelligence. These debates addressed various AI applications and raised important questions about how we can responsibly design and implement these technologies in society.Our students conducted debates on three topics: automated hiring practices, AI chatbots in therapy and mental health counseling, and AI art generation. Each of these discussions provided a platform to explore the complexities of integrating AI into sensitive areas of life and work.The debates this summer provided a valuable opportunity to critically examine the impact of AI technologies in various fields. As these debates have shown, AI presents both opportunities and challenges, and it is essential that we continue to engage in discussions about its responsible use.
