Mark Towler (Mechanical and Industrial Engineering) has developed and patented a range of glasses for use as non-toxic injectable adhesives to fix and stabilize damaged bone, which has many potential applications in open surgery and bone setting. He has also developed a proprietary procedural kit for the sterilized mixing and delivery of these adhesives to surgical sites. These adhesives promise to provide patients with improved healing outcomes and surgeons with reduced operating times and fewer complications.
